Compare the2025 Nissan ZVS 2025 Chevrolet Corvette

The Z has standard Front and Rear Sonar System to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Corvette doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

The Z has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the Corvette’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Z has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert, helping the driver avoid collisions. Chevrolet charges extra for Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the Corvette.

The Z’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Corvette doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Z and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems and rearview cameras.

The Z’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (unlimited vs. 100,000 miles).

Nissan pays for scheduled maintenance on the Z for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Nissan will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corvette.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Z have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Nissan vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Nissan 4 places higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

On the EPA test cycle the Z gets better mileage than the Corvette:

A nine-speed automatic is available on the Nissan Z, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Corvette.

The Z stops shorter than the Corvette:

The Z NISMO handles at 1.02 G’s, while the Corvette Coupe pulls only .95 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Z’s turning circle is 3.6 feet tighter than the Corvette with Magnetic Ride Control’s (32.8 feet vs. 36.4 feet). The Z’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the Corvette’s (32.8 feet vs. 38.1 feet).

The Z is 9.9 inches shorter than the Corvette, making the Z easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Z has .3 inches more front headroom, .1 inches more front legroom and 2.6 inches more front hip room than the Corvette.

A low lift-over trunk design makes loading and unloading the Z easier. The Z’s trunk lift-over height is 36.5 inches, while the Corvette’s liftover is 38.7 inches.

The Z Manual can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Z can be unhitched and driven around locally. The Corvette can’t be towed flat on the ground.

The Z’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Chevrolet does not offer a locking feature on the Corvette’s standard power windows.

The Z’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Consumer Reports rated the Z’s headlight performance “Good,” a higher rating than the Corvette’s headlights, which were rated “Fair.”

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Z has a standard Intelligent Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Corvette doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
