Compare the2025 Nissan ZVS 2024 Jaguar F-Type

2025 Nissan Z
2024 Jaguar F-Type

Safety

The Z has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The F-Type doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the Z and the F-Type have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

There are almost 9 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Z’s warranty.

Reliability

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Z’s reliability 15 points higher than the F-Type.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 22 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is rated lower.

Transmission

The Z offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and sportiness. The F-Type doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

A nine-speed automatic is available on the Nissan Z, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the F-Type.

Brakes and Stopping

The Z stops shorter than the F-Type:

Tires and Wheels

The Z has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The F-Type doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Suspension and Handling

The Z NISMO handles at 1.02 G’s, while the F-Type Coupe pulls only .96 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Z NISMO executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the F-Type R75 Coupe (23.9 seconds @ .83 average G’s vs. 24.4 seconds @ .82 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Z’s turning circle is 2.1 feet tighter than the F-Type’s (32.8 feet vs. 34.9 feet). The Z’s turning circle is 4.2 feet tighter than the F-Type AWD’s (32.8 feet vs. 37 feet).

Chassis

The Nissan Z may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 pounds less than the Jaguar F-Type.

The Z is 3.6 inches shorter than the F-Type, making the Z easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Z Performance/NISMO uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The F-Type doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Passenger Space

The Z has 1.4 inches more front headroom and .1 inches more front legroom than the F-Type Coupe.

Towing

The Z Manual can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Z can be unhitched and driven around locally. The F-Type can’t be towed flat on the ground.

Ergonomics

The Z’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Jaguar does not offer a locking feature on the F-Type’s standard power windows.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Z has standard extendable sun visors. The F-Type doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Z’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The F-Type’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Z has a standard Intelligent Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The F-Type doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

With standard voice command, the Z offers the driver hands free control of the radio and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The F-Type doesn’t offer a voice control system.

Economic Advantages

The Z will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Z will retain 58.37% to 60.28% of its original price after five years, while the F-Type only retains 49.86% to 51.21%.

Recommendations

Consumer Reports® recommends the Nissan Z, based on reliability, safety and performance.

The Nissan Z outsold the Jaguar F-Type by over three to one during 2024.
